Kiln Firing for External Clay Bodies – Are you looking to experiment with your clay body?

Have you ever been scrolling through your social media and saw someone using a unique clay you’ve never seen? You do a quick search and the stars align when you discover that it is indeed a Cone 6 clay! If you’re interested in experimenting with clay bodies outside of those offered through Warwick Pottery Studio, we’d be happy to fire it for you so long as it meets our requirements! Please be advised that we charge $4/per pound of clay, per firing until 2024, at which point we will be transitioning to a cubic-inch system

We strongly encourage you to purchase your cone 6 clay from our studio which will ensure we fire with no surprises. We have 3 different Cone 6 clay bodies available: 563 White Stoneware, 213 Porcelain, and 308 Brooklyn Red. If you bring pieces made with non-studio clay and glazes, you must provide an exact cone reference for the clay and the glazes you intend to use for the safety of our studio and students. Please note that combustibles like paper, sawdust, etc. are strictly prohibited from Warwick Pottery. Any additions to clay must not produce smoke and glazes should be rated as non-toxic after firing.
